With desktop virtualisation undoubtedly gathering pace in today’s IT environment, a new South African partnership called Thinking Smart has been launched, which brings specialised skills and focus to the virtualisation arena.

Thinking Smart is a joint venture between two of the most bleeding edge ICT businesses in South Africa, THINK iT and Smart Axess Solutions. Both companies have virtualisation as a core focus and capability.
Clients have the advantage of a focused skills base in both businesses, with THINK iT as the first Microsoft Gold Virtualisation Partner and Smart Axess Solutions as the only Citrix Platinum Partner in SA.
"The mix of infrastructure and application delivery skills both businesses bring into the joint venture make Thinking Smart the first organisation in SA to focus entirely on the specialised benefits of desktop virtualisation – and the first to provide its end-to-end implementation," says Smart Axess Solutions CEO, Alex Russell.
Thinking Smart offers a complete range of desktop virtualisation solutions, including:
* Design.
* Architecture.
* Implementation.
* Support and maintenance.
* End-to-end infrastructure provision, including the supply, installation and configuration of the hardware components of the virtualisation solution.
Thinking Smart provides its customers with the following on first engagement:
* Desktop virtualisation readiness assessment.
* Windows 7 strategy development.
* Desktop delivery and deployment strategy.
The assessment and strategic planning process results in outputs such as user and application profiling, as well as infrastructure assessment with a view to adoption and implementation design.
"The gains in efficiency and cost reduction which desktop virtualisation and cloud computing can bring to your business are well documented. With the power and reach of both Microsoft and Citrix behind us, Thinking Smart is a virtualisation pioneer in the South African ICT space," concludes Dominic Oettl, CEO of THINK iT.
