In the two weeks since it was launched, Vodacom's revolutionary new Airtime Advance service has helped more than 200 000 people remain connected.
Airtime Advance makes it possible for prepaid customers to get R10.00 worth of airtime which can then be repaid the next time the customer recharges.
Portia Maurice, Vodacom's chief officer of corporate affairs, comments: "We knew there was a market for this type of product but the uptake has been simply phenomenal.”
For customers to qualify for Airtime Advance, they must have been active on the Vodacom Network for 12 months or more; they must have recharged with a minimum of R29.00 (VAT Inclusive) per month (this can be cumulative) in the previous six months, and they must have completed the RICA process successfully.
To check whether they qualify for the service, customers must dial *111*082#. A service fee of R1.00 will be charged for every R10.00 advance.
