NEC Display Solutions Europe has unveiled several completely revamped public displays of its popular V Series, once again setting new standards for the segment, while adding new sizes such as 55- and 65-inch.
Ideally suited to digital signage for enterprise and retail environments the new V422, V462, V551 and V651 models incorporate the innovative features of their predecessors (such as thermal management and remote management over LAN), with a range of new improvements.
These improvements include a revised slimmed down design (by as much as 23mm), built-in speakers and the ability to digitally daisy chain displays over DVI.
Most significantly, all four of the new additions boast NEC’s dual slot technology, which allows for the integration of single board computers and other option slot products based on the current NEC and new NEC/Intel OPS standard, eliminating the need to stow external equipment, thus reducing the clutter of cables to the screens.
Measuring 42-, 46-, 55- and 65-inches respectively, the new V Series displays all support full HD content with a native resolution of 1920×1080 and a brightness of between 450cd/m2 and 500 cd/m2.
As well as a variety of analogue connection options, all four of the displays include DVI-D (with HDCP), HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort connectors to ensure content can be delivered from a variety of sources.
NEC also offers an optional calibration solution with a sensor and software so the display can be calibrated to perfect colour and brightness. This is vital for ensuring stand-alone displays deliver the most accurate and vibrant content.
“NEC’s new V Series raises the bar for entry level public displays and represents an ideal solution for customers looking for good value for money with high expectations in reliability and longevity,” says business development manager, Craig Butterworth, at NEC Display Solutions.
“With these additions to the range, NEC can provide all the control and connectivity options our customers in Southern Africa need, providing them with the tools they require to effectively deploy an effective and reliable signage solution.”
