VidyoMobile has been released for the iOS platforms, including iPads, iPhones and iPod Touch devices. It delivers high quality multi-point or point-to-point telepresence experiences anywhere that the WiFi, 3G or 4G networks reach. The application is now available for download from the Apple App Store.
Vidyo, distributed in South Africa and Africa by Q Distribution, launched the application to turn any mobile device into a multi-point video conferencing solution. It allows users to conduct a video conference while on the move, with their mobile device.
“For the first time, multipoint video conferencing is as universally accessible as voice communication,” says Craig Watson, director of Q Distribution.
“The VidyoMobile app uses Vidyo’s patented Adaptive Video Layering (AVL) technology to deliver smooth video over almost any connection.”
The VidyoMobile app is simple to install and use, with all pre- and in-call controls handled from the same user interface. Users have full control over their layout and can choose which participants they want to view and can dynamically change between portrait and landscape orientations. Users can also make use of preferred speaker and continuous presence modes.
Since multiple participants can share data into the conference at the same time, VidyoMobile offers a content dock where shared data may be previewed and selected or returned to the dock and hidden off-screen, all with a simple touch. It also supports the mobile device’s native gesture controls, such as pinch for zoom and swipe to pan.
VidyoMobile is accessible now and user accounts can be set up at the VidyoPortal. For existing Vidyo users, the same login credentials used for VidyoDesktop can be used as soon as the application is loaded.
