Pastel Evolution, the enterprise resource planning program from Softline Pastel, now also boasts a business analytics module that goes beyond standard reporting and enhances Evolution’s functionality as an enterprise management tool.
The comprehensive module is a product of the collaboration between Pastel Evolution and iSPartners, a specialist business intelligence partner and has been developed specifically for the retail, wholesale and distribution industries.
The business analytics module provides detailed data analysis over high volumes and ships with standard, industry specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for sales, inventory and supply chain management.
And because it’s been designed specifically as a bolt-on application, it will run seamlessly with Pastel Evolution so the user can quick start the analysis process using the most relevant indicators of performance found in an ERP system.
The ability for business analytics to provide an expandable reporting platform that measures performance against a set of standard KPIs and pre-built metrics, gives Evolution users more insightful reports complete with industry benchmarks and indicators of where operational discrepancies exist.
Daryl Blundell, sales director at Softline Pastel, part of the Sage Group, believes that the business analytics module extends the core offering of the Evolution ERP system in a very meaningful way.
“It reduces the burden of manual report writing and provides quick implementations. A business that understands its performance against standard industry KPIs can quickly take action to improve stock management and enhance cost efficiencies in order to guarantee better returns on investment.”
The ability for businesses to quickly identify inefficiencies and make the correct adjustments is essential to survival.
David Ives, the director at iSPartners adds, “When businesses execute their decisions it is paramount to be able to measure the real cash return on these decisions in order to maintain a profitable and sustainable business.”
Business analytics also has the ability to produce intuitive graphical representations of reports and these will appear as multi dimensional QuickCubes that can be modified and expanded. QuickCubes are prebuilt on Pastel Evolution and enhances its features beyond the traditional ERP space and unlocks business value within a very short space of time.
Both QuickCubes and KPI applications will allow Evolution users to focus on their real business questions, all of which is made easier by leveraging off a strong ERP solution like Evolution. This forms the platform to allow for automated budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis and dashboards.
A Microsoft Excel based front end allows for quick learning and adoption of the solution. Users of Pastel Evolution will find it effortless to learn how to unlock the full potential of business analytics as it is intuitive in look and feel and ships with a standard set of user-friendly dashboards.
“The business analytics module can be applied as the foundation for reporting in organisations that use Pastel Evolution as their ERP system of choice. Due to the intuitive graphical development environment it is straightforward for organisations to modify or expand the cubes,” Blundell concludes.
