Itec has built on the success of its five-year relationship with Murray & Roberts Cementation by clinching a contract to manage the document output environment for its sister company, Murray & Roberts Building Products.
Since Itec came on board, it has helped Cementation to save about 50-60% on its annual printing costs. Murray & Roberts Building Products expects to achieve similar savings as it rolls out more of its offices with Itec.
Murray & Roberts Cementation started its relationship with Itec more than five years ago when it started searching for a vendor to help it drive down its runaway printing costs. The company appointed Itec as its office automation partner after being impressed with Itec’s pre-sales support and proposal when it called for tenders.
Itec began its engagement by conducting a thorough audit of the printing environment and identifying opportunities to save money by streamlining the fleet of devices. In particular, desktop printers were done away with in favour of fewer, larger multifunction printers (MFPs).
Today, Itec manages more than 90 machines printing at offices nationwide at Murray & Roberts Cementation.
Jaco de Bruin, financial director at Murray & Roberts Building Products, and a former executive at Murray & Roberts Cementation, says that this track record prompted him to call on Itec when he moved into his new role.
“Over the years, I have enjoyed a transparent and honest relationship with Itec at Cementation, so it made sense to turn to the company as a supplier for Murray & Roberts Building Products as well,” says De Bruin. “From its earliest engagements with Cementation, Itec has delivered good service levels and a good value proposition. Another benefit of working with Itec is transparent pricing per page that covers consumables, service and parts.”
De Bruin says that in addition to its nationwide infrastructure, Itec is able to offer service level agreements for repairs that most other vendors are not even prepared to consider. Weekly site visits by Itec technicians for proactive maintenance help to keep the machines running smoothly and reduce downtime.
Shani De Koker, account executive at Itec Connect, says that Itec has invested in a nationwide infrastructure to provide large customers such as the Murray & Roberts companies with consistent service levels, wherever they operate.
In addition, Itec’s value-added software solutions enable it to manage and maintain customers’ environments in a proactive manner, as well as equip companies to better track and manage printer usage within their organisations.
“Companies such as Murray & Roberts Cementation and Building Products are choosing their print solutions based on service and the complete solution vendors can offer rather than the hardware alone,” she concludes.
“We look forward to a long relationship with the Murray & Roberts group going forward.”
