Durban-based Tier One Electronics, an in-car DVD and accessories solutions provider,- has opened up a sales office in Centurion, Pretoria, to better focus on “growing business” in the region.
The company, which bought itself out from the listed Mustek group during 2010 , also announced it would be opening a regional sales office in Cape Town on 1 October as part of its expansion plans in the Cape region.
This is according to newly-appointed Tier-One Gauteng regional director, Ian Miller, who says the company will also be appointing additional managers to “focus on each region’s sales”.
Commenting on the expansion in the Cape region, Miller says: “While our head office and main distribution centre will remain in Durban, we realize the need to have a renewed physical presence in other regions. The new sales office in Cape Town will also enhance our penetration into the Cape region.”
He says each regional sales office will be operated as “independent cost centres, which puts the company in a better position to control the growth in each region”.
“We will hold limited stock in our different sales offices, which will enable us to provide real time supply channels – while the bulk of our stock will remain in Durban, from where we will also supply clients.”
Erwin Rencken, who has just been appointed as the regional director of Tier One Electronics (Cape region), said there is “grow potential” in the Cape region, adding that the Cape offices should add around 25% to group revenue within the first 12 months of operations. “Due to new strategies and the diversification of Tier One’s product range we are also able to penetrate new markets and make use of the strength of Tier One’s motor industry pedigree to enhance specialised corporate solutions.”
