DStv Mobile is excited to announce the significant developments that have been made with the Drifta DStv Mobile decoder application for Android devices. The Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S II and the Samsung Galaxy TAB 7″ are now compatible with the Drifta.
This comes just in time for the Rugby World Cup to be played in New Zealand, kicking off on 09 September 2011.
Most Rugby World Cup games will be played during South African working hours; however, Bokke fans don’t have an excuse to miss out on any of the games as DStv Mobile will be broadcasting all the games live to DStv Mobile compatible devices.
Compatible Android devices can easily access DStv Mobile by downloading the free DStv Mobile decoder application from the Android market. The application will also be available from the Samsung apps store.
Once downloaded, the Android viewing device needs be paired to the Drifta, and then mobile TV viewing can begin instantly. Great content is on offer in the genres of sport, music, general entertainment, cartoons and news.
DStv Mobile plans to make the Drifta application compatible with as many Android devices as possible, and further testing will continue with other Android devices.
Since DStv Mobile launched the Drifta in November 2010, the device has been compatible with iOS devices (iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad), PCs and laptops.
DStv Premium subscribers do not have to pay subscription costs to access DStv Mobile. All other users will pay a nominal subscription fee of R36.00 per month. Coverage is available in the nine major cities of South Africa.
