Air Namibia provides essential domestic transport links between Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Rundu, Katima Mulilo and Ondangwa, as well as regional links to Luanda, Maun, Victoria Falls, Cape Town and Johannesburg. Links to the rest of the world are provided via regular scheduled flights to Frankfurt.
To support its passenger and cargo services, Air Namibia has a central reservations call centre based in Windhoek, with all inbound and outbound voice as well as cellular least cost routing (LCR) services supplied by Vox Orion.
When the time came to move operations to its new head office building, Air Namibia once again turned to Vox Orion.
“In the whole moving process Vox Orion was one of the few suppliers that delivered on time,” says assistant IT manager, Albe Louw.
“We appointed them to do voice and data cabling for the new building, as well as to supply network and power supply equipment for the server room. They also managed the entire process of moving our phone lines from the old to the new building, including testing.”
The relationship between Vox Orion and Air Namibia goes back to 1999, says Louw.
“They supply all the services we need in one place – they are a one-stop-shop – and their service is excellent. They are always just a phone call away.”
Louw says Vox Orion has constant access to Air Namibia’s network to monitor core functions, and is proactive in identifying and solving potential problems highlighted by the daily network reports it receives.
