Bytes Systems Integration, wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron and an Oracle Gold Partner, has further extended its existing rich Oracle middleware capability by partnering with niche black-owned Oracle database support specialist, RDC, to provide proactive, cost-effective remote and on-site “virtual DBA” support to Bytes’ Oracle clients.
Bytes numbers most large companies, and many public sector organisations, as clients. A high percentage of them are Oracle users, and in almost every case the Oracle database plays a critical role in ensuring the organisation runs optimally.
“We are relatively small compared to Bytes, but we are true specialists in our field, with more than 50 certified professionals,” says Rodney Naidoo, executive at fellow Oracle Gold Partner, RDC.
“We’ve been in business for 16 years, and through our ongoing focus on database management services, we’ve become recognised as the leader in this field. Our first client from 16 years ago, one of the large banks, is still with us.
“We support other databases too, such as Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Sybase and open source databases, ensuring that customers have the assurance of high-performance databases with low latency and high integrity. We support everything, remote or on-site, transactional and business intelligence, and ensure all customers have the latest version of the database.”
The benefit for customers, says Naidoo, is that they can simply focus on their core business with the assurance that their database is always running optimally.
“A customer always has access to a critical mass of skills without having to employ them, and more cost-effectively than they could do it themselves.”
“We identified a gap in the market for fully managed services of Oracle and other databases,” says Mark Neethling, divisional manager, Bytes Systems Integration.
“We were strongly attracted to RDC because of their complementary skills and their excellent track record. We have no doubt that both existing and new customers will derive significant business value from the synergies of this valuable partnership.”
