The top 20 e-commerce sites in South Africa have been named. User nominations have been evaluated on a number of different criteria to come up with the final list of sites that will compete for the top e-commerce site award.
Since the announcement of the Top 40 sites in the 2011 South African E-Commerce Awards last month, Jump Shopping has been evaluating them to determine the top 20 to go forward to the third and final round of the awards.
The siets were evaluated for design, standards and ease of use, mobility, social networking and public voting.
The top 20 sites are: Bid or Buy; Calora; Cars.co.za; Greenlove; Groupon My City Deal; Kalahari.com; kulula.com; Leisure Books; Look and Listen; Loot.co.za; NuMetro; Private Property; Prophecy.co.za; SafariNow.com; Simplicity Online; Takealot; Travel Ground; UbuntuDeal; Wicount; and Yuppiechef.
Jump Shopping will order goods or services from each of the top 20 sites under pseudonyms to evaluate the ordering process and customer service. The evaluations conducted in Round 2 and Round 3 will determine the winners in the 2011 South African E-Commerce Awards.
Sites could win in any of the following categories:
* The Public’s Favourite E-Commerce Website;
* Best E-Commerce Store;
* Best E-Commerce Services Website;
* Best Group Buying Website;
* Best Design, Standards & Ease of use; and
* Best Shopping Process.
Jusging will close on 31 October 2011 and the winners will be announced on 7 November 2011.
