This Easter, MTN has announced a special promotion that will see one MTN PayAsYouGo customer walk away with a R100 000 cash prize for recharging their airtime.
The campaign will also include promotional giveaways along key national roads such as the N3 (to Durban) and N1 to Polokwane. In Limpopo, MTN has special plans to offer enhanced network coverage for the increased volumes of customers visiting the popular Moria pilgrimage, ensuring that they have continued connectivity.
Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer of MTN SA, comments: “We know that our customers need to stay in touch with their loved ones over this special holiday period, whether they are in another city, or away from home. To keep them connected, our campaign will include customers being rewarded with more points to recharge their airtime and opportunities to learn more about MTN’s range of fabulous PayAsYouGo offerings.”
For migrant workers and other MTN customers who will be travelling to neighbouring countries during the Easter break, MTN will be offering reduced and highly attractive roaming rates in the sub-Saharan Africa region. Customers will be able to receive free incoming calls and SMSes, which have been reduced from R4, send SMS to anywhere for R1.50 and make local calls in the country they are visiting for as little as R3.
The reduced rates are expected to benefit migrant workers travelling to countries such as Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique.
Only MTN PayAsYouGo customers are eligible for the R100 000 cash prize. Customers need to opt in by dialling *186*8# on their mobile phone to register and then recharge with a minimum of R10 MTN airtime before 9 April.
