What are we looking for?
Raizcorp is looking for an Instructional Designer for a four-month contract. The Instructional Designer is responsible for both the pedagogical and technical aspects of creating Raizcorp courses for classroom, technology-based and blended learning environments.

While not necessarily a subject-matter expert, the Instructional Designer will work with Raizcorp business mentors and other subject-matter experts, where necessary, but will be ultimately responsible for the development and quality of course content.

What does an Instructional Designer do?
A Instructional Designer at Raizcorp analyses current Raizcorp learning material and works with mentors (and other subject matter experts) to develop revised material. He or she will also develop bespoke learning for new Raizcorp programmes, as well as analyse the learning aims of Raizcorp programmes and design solutions.

The Instructional Designer will also develop innovative ideas for e-learning at Raizcorp and translate these ideas into learning solutions while applying instructional design theories and practice, and ensuring that all learning conforms to the Raizcorp look and feel (including creating a Raizcorp “twist”). You must be able to “productise” learning (create products for learning and include existing products). Part of your role will entail analysing course feedback and working with the Raizcorp Academy Manager to improve material where necessary. You will conduct project management of all content to be developed within the pipeline along with new or special programmes, as needed.

What kind of personality will excel in this role?
A person with a true passion for learning and the development of learning content. You should fit in well if you have fine attention to detail and are a systems thinker who has a delivery-focused approach and a strong practical ability to deliver on deadline. You should be a communicative personality with the ability to provide feedback, and possess a strong value-driven approach to learning content, a desire for excellence combined with the ability to challenge learning conventions and norms.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the critical evaluation of learning content and material
