Role needs strong Environmental as well as Property / Facilities and less so on the safety side.
o Dam safety and water course management, including but not limited to oversight and planning for annual interim and 5 yearly safety audits
o Industrial Complex – management and oversight of tenant environmental compliance, including but not limited to monitoring of tenants Safety Data Sheets (in process of being rolled out) and environmental audits
o Participation in Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) Committee
- Oversight of adherence to Coastal Water Discharge Permit
- Management and oversight of tenant and new development environmental compliance
- Roll out of Environmental Code of Conduct (ECoC)
- Oversight of site storm water management plan
- Dam safety and water course management
- Facilitating site Water Use Licence application
- Work alongside Remediation team on execution of the strategy
- Ensure compliance to MHI and Rail Safety Regulator requirements;
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRMENTS- Matric / Grade 12 / NQF equivalent.- BSc or Environmental Sciences degree.- Minimum of 3-5 years SHE management experience.- A minimum of 3-5 years in chemical industry plant, or mining environment would be advantageous- Fully conversant in OHS Act as well as any other SHE legislation and amendments to current legislation.- Proficiency in technical aspects of SHE Management and good understanding of OHS Act regulations, standards and procedures, and other relevant legislative requirements i.e., Water Act, Environmental Act.- A firm grasp of Environmental Law.- Experience in areas of Conservation will be advantageous.- Data analysis, interpretation and recommendations.- SHE Systems – Evaluation and integration (Auditing).- SHE Legal [URL Removed]
