Duties and Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Planner you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate stock quantities timeously at site / article levels while balancing and achieving the KPIs within your assigned categories i.e. Sales Targets, Availability, Waste & RTC, Working Capital and Cost of Distribution. Your role will include the integration with key stakeholders and execution of defined processes w.r.t. planning, operations & analytics. It is required of you to adopt a continuous improvement mentality for the enhancement of systems, processes & planning tools to keep these relevant, in a continuously changing environment.

• Management of stock flow throughout the entire value chain of Pick n Pay for a specific category
• Analyse historical sales trends to forecast for normal replenishment and different types of promotions to calculate required inbound volumes per distribution centre (DC)
• Monitor and adjust order forecasts into DC on the inbound rosters to improve accuracy and include promotional volumes
• Use a Just-in-Time approach to determine when stock needs to be ordered into the DCs
• Forecast and align master data for new store openings and newly centralised vendors
• Update roster master data to improve order forecasts
• Calculate a feasible order to accommodate deals and price increases
• Prevent out of stocks by tracking vendor strike rates and sales trends
• Daily calculations of promotional requirements and allocations to stores
• Create allocations to stores for promotional stock as per agreed rules
• Manage short dated, obsolete, and dormant stock
• Weekly meetings with Commercial team to align internal master data on new/relisted articles
• Vendor collaboration process (including but not limited to) o Share order forecast volumes o Align master data to resolve order errors o Work towards vendor strike rate improvement
• Strive towards reaching KPI targets (including but not limited to) o Manage working capital at DC and store level o In-store availability o Sales growth targets in alignment with Commercial
• Communicate risks/anomalies to relevant stakeholders
• Actively work towards optimising/automating daily functions and processes

Additional Information

Required to work weekend shifts as scheduled or ad hoc as required. Long hours if needed for operational requirements. This is not an 8-5 job, this is a retail career opportunity.
