The purpose of the Sales Training Manager is turning our people into highly effective insurance professionals by identifying needs and implementing development plans that will ensure the continuous improvement of personal technical knowledge, product expertise, customer centric mind sets and sales skills so that our customers and company benefit from the efforts of this highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and continue to improve on a bespoke training program that identifies our company’s specific needs and that consists of the following skills, knowledge and attributes;
    o Interpersonal Skills
    o Personal lines technical content
    o Product specific content, including insurance, tracking, SuperValue, VAPS and AA Membership
    o Winning and keeping customers content
    o Highly effective sales skills.
  • Develop and maintain sales scripts, including obtaining line management and Compliance Officer support
  • In consultation with line management, and by reviewing customer interactions (calls), develop a personal continuous improvement roadmap for each team member that includes one on one and classroom training
  • Execute the continuous improvement plan, monitor results for improved outcomes and engage with line management where interventions are required
  • Work with the People team with regards to any centrally organised training and development initiatives
  • Take ownership of ensuring that all ‘FAIS’ staff comply with the relevant qualifications and CPD requirements prior to due dates

The ideal candidate should have the following qualfications and experience:

  • Full Qualification in Short Term Insurance – Personal Lines
  • RE 5
  • Training and or Teaching qualification would be an advantage
  • 5 years of sales and sales management experience where you have had a direct impact on helping team members to improve their results by improving skills and knowledge
  • Methodical and structured approach to developing and executing coaching plans for team members
  • Ability to work within a management team to get their support for your ideas
  • The ability to effectively manage a broad array of stakeholders, including internal and external senior decision makers and junior team members
  • Reasonable experience in participating in management strategy formulation and execution
