YOUR FUTURE ROLE:
The company requires the services of a Senior Agronomist who will report directly to the Chief Agronomist. The main purpose of the position is to provide hands-on agronomic services to the company’s producers based on sound economic principles and covering all aspects of citrus production:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pest & Disease Management (IPM based).
- Fertilisation & Soil Health Improvement.
- Irrigation Scheduling.
- Pruning & Crop Manipulation.
- Cultivar/Variety Spread & Rootstock Choice.
- Picking Practices.
- Production Economics.
- Sustainability Practices.
- Provide junior members within the department with guidance and training.
- Most importantly, the successful applicants will be required to develop a professional working relationship with their clients.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The Profile: The candidate is a specialist in the field, preferably with experience gained in the citrus industry, or similar environment.
- Minimum 3 Year tertiary agricultural qualification.
- 3 Years of field and advisory experiencein the agricultural industry.
- Applicants need to be AVCASA accredited.
- Computer literacy with good skills in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
