Reports To:

Minimum Qualification
- Business Management diploma/degree or Equivalent
- C & CI Level III Concrete and higher
- Grade 12
- SHREQ Qualification,
- Good managerial and communication skills.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multiple Plant Management
- Must be able to develop and following budgets; managing and developing personnel; oversee and continuously improving operations
Duties
- Work closely with Financial Controller regarding finance related matters
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing Team about sales and potential projects within the assigned area(s)
- Work closely with Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance in all area of human resources that affect our business and our staff
- The comprehensive goal of the Area Manager and primary objective is to maintain and/or help create an organized and efficient work environment for servicing our customer base.
- The Area Manager reports directly to the General Manager Readymix
- The responsibilities of this position are accomplished either directly or through subordinates.
- Bottom line EBITDA responsibility of the region.
The major areas of primary responsibility are as follows
Operations
- Correct allocation of resources in the region
- Action plans to ensure high availability with min breakdowns
- Resolve customer issues and complaints.
- Continuously work to improve sales, customer service and profitability within the region
- Ensure basic SANS concrete specifications for mixing of concrete are adhere to and company best practises are followed.
Equipment
- Oversee plant and equipment in region
- Ensure that preventive maintenance is performed, and that plants and equipment meet the company expectations for maintenance and cleanliness
- Ensure proper placement of equipment in assigned area
Materials
- Ultimately responsible for raw material stock and assets with the help of Plant Supervisors
- Schedule and maintain appropriate inventory levels at all assigned locations including but not limited to cement, aggregates, admixtures, parts, supplies and retail supply inventory
Safety, Environment & Human Resources
- Ensure that all employees are working in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure that all plants and equipment are of free of safety hazards
- Ensure that all team members are environmentally responsible both on and off company property
- Foster an environment that promotes safety, professionalism and teamwork
Administration & Other Duties
- Responsible for the ongoing evaluation and growth of subordinate managers, includes thorough, accurate and timely written performance evaluations
- Ensure that subordinate managers are adhering to the standards set by the company.
- Paperwork, deadlines and reporting duties are as important as the operational duties expected of them.
