Our client based in Ndola, Zambia is looking for an HR Manager to support our Zambia contingent comprising of 6-8 warehouses, 3 entities and approximately 700 employees

Qualification

  • Relevant degree or qualification
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years’ experience
  • Extensive knowledge of latest Zambian labour law
  • Experienced in corresponding with Labour Department
  • Strong ability to build and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Independent work style and solution orientated focus
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of 6-8 direct reports across 6 work sites
  • Own and execute the recruitment and selection process
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process and capturing
  • Ensure proper contracts are prepared and attested by the Dept of Labour
  • Ensure all people processes executed in line with statutory requirements
  • Responsible for keeping employee contract information updated at all times
  • Manage employee leave applications accurately and support managers/teams in ensuring that employees take annual leave days and minimize leave accruals
  • Drive proper employment practice across company sites in line with minimum wage
  • Manage employee grievances
  • Implement and coordinate performance review process
  • Manage annual salary review and bonus process as approved by Senior Management
  • Manage and prepare relevant HR Metrics on monthly basis
  • Drive and support on union related matters where required and liaise with external vendors
  • Maintain regular and effective correspondence with Labour Dept
  • Efficient handling of labour disputes
  • Coaching and developing of HR support members across warehouses
  • Oversee and execute business structural plans and activity as required
