Our client is an established Asset Management company based in London. They are looking for an Investment Analyst to assist their Head of Long/Short Strategies, who is based in Cape Town. Our client has $4bn AUM and are mostly known for their fund of hedge funds investments, although they also invest in other asset classes.
The Head of Long/Short Strategies covers all the equity long/short hedge funds in which they invest. These are mostly in the US, Asia, and London.
The Investment Analyst will help the Head of Long/Short Strategies in covering the equity long/short hedge fund universe. This involves monitoring our clients existing fund investments including looking for new fund investments.
The Investment Analyst along with the Head of Long/Short Strategies will be based in Cape Town and will work remotely with the rest of the team which is in London.
Traveling:
- Post Covid there will be some international travel, especially as the person gains experience.
- Pre-Covid there was travel about 6 times a year for about 1-2 weeks at a time to various places like New York, Hong Kong and London to meet Fund Managers.
Requirements:
- CA (SA) or Actuarial Science or any other type of financial qualification
- 3 years’ work experience, either CA articles or within Asset Management
- Ideally completed their CFA or at least be busy with level II or III
- High academic excellence plus a passion for financial markets
- Ability to interact with clients
