Purpose Statement

  • To ensure a safe environment for staff and clients at Capitec Business Bank Business Centres and Retail Bank Branches and safeguard cash held on site, branch infrastructure, offsite installations and related equipment at branches and off-site installations.
  • To review the security landscape, challenges or risks and continuously work on risk mitigating actions thereby ensuring the bank stays ahead of the security threats.



  • At least 3 – 4 years’ relevant experience in operational management directly related to security, including 3 years’ proven experience in investigations and risk analysis
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in regulatory aspects of risk, safety and security management (i.e. OHAS)
  • Management of external service providers


  • Multi-site, geographically spread operations
  • Exposure to the operation of a national security operations centre (NOC)
  • Exposure to the implementation of the Occupational Health and Environment Act
  • Technical knowledge and experience in the design, operation, installation or monitoring of intrusion alarm systems

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational in Grade 12 National Certificate

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology or Law

  • Management of functional contracts with external service providers.
  • How to identify & exploit security trends & developments to capitalise security in a cost effective way
  • Efficiency in security processes and measures.

  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle is required
  • Willingness to travel extensively and regularly
  • Willingness to work or be available overtime and / or weekends if required
  • Willing and able to use own home as a formal office / base of operations (including space for ad hoc storage of paperwork, stock, etc.)
