Main Purpose:

To deliver all the required accounting reconciliations and controls to ensure effective and accurate payments to property suppliers
.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective financial processes relating to loading lease information in oracle and actioning property (including utilities) payments
  • Accountability for the reconciliation of relevant General Ledger accounts in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and WW financial principles
  • Ensure fully reconciled and detailed provisions for all accounts within the creditors environment
  • Managing all the required systems interventions for administering all payments e.g. approving payment templates
  • Compliance with best practice internal controls and accounting practices, including implementing a system of Control Risk Self-Assessment (CRSA)
  • Ensure that sub-ledgers are compliant with the rigors of audit to substantiate values in the balance sheet
  • Ensure proper working of the EFT payment process, including setting parameters for payment runs and confirming payments status
  • Prepare timeous management reporting in line with best practice
  • Ensure integrity and control around Master Data Maintenance, including leases supplier terms, banking details, etc.
  • Problem resolution including logging of all incidents and following through to ensure resolution
  • Manage relationship with Landlords to ensure leasing agreements are adhered to
  • Support the compilation of branch turnover certificates annually for review by internal audit
  • Review Rates calculations performed and provide support in resolving any disputes
  • Work with Central accounting – Properties Transactional and Sundry Debtors team to ensure timeous payments and recovery of monies

Key Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • B. Comm or equivalent
  • 4 years financial management experience in an Accounting environment / Articles
  • Understanding of properties processes, systems and leases
  • Sound understanding of IFRS/GAAP / WW Financial Principles and accounting processes
  • Able to effectively use Excel and Oracle financial system and reporting tools e.g. Cognos, Hyperion, Qlikview, etc
  • Able to apply accounting knowledge and solve problems in large, complex IT driven accounting environment and to process large volumes of financial
