- JOB PURPOSE
- To conduct a customer needs assessment in order to determine short, medium and long term requirements to facilitate demand reviews and planning. Analyse demands in order to give input in the budgetary projections to enable sourcing of goods and services timeously.
Demand Planning
– Conduct a needs assessment to ensure that goods or services are acquired timeously in order to deliver the agreed service or product, aligned with relevant policies and procedures;
- Analyse demands and give input in the current, short, medium term planning and review process
- Identify potential risks and mitigate
- Ensure that the requirements are linked to the budget and priorities
- In collaboration with relevant role players ensure that the specifications are precisely determined
- Ensure the needs form part of the operational plan
- Analyse expenditure trends in order to determine “lessons learned” and plan for the next financial year.
- Analyse industry to match industry offerings with MMSEZ’s needs and cost effectiveness
- Identify the lead and delivery times for tender efficiency
- Conduct an industry and commodity analysis to assist the tender department
- Assist with analysing the value of threshold and perform spend analysis to determine the mechanism to be used for bidding
- Communication with internal customers in respect of different needs;
- Oversee the tender estimate for accuracy and compliance with the customer requirements and commercial strategy.
- Assist as needed in the development of prequalification documents

- Foster effective communications and ensure appropriate relationships are maintained with the stakeholders of MMSEZ- Cultivate and promote good corporate image;- Develop, grow and protect MMSEZ’s corporate brand
Sound corporate governance
– Follow approved SC policies and procedures
- Establish effective control and coordination mechanisms for all operations and activities and take reasonable steps to ensure the integrity of the internal control and management information systems;
- Ensure that all operations and activities of the division are conducted in accordance with the PPPFA, PFMA & King lV, relevant regulations, the MMSEZ Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, sound business practices, and the other policies and practices approved by the Board;
- Comply with organisation and divisional reporting requirements and delegations of authority
- Monthly reporting
- Assist the Cost Estimator/Proposal Specialist in budgetary estimates to Customers.
- Maintain records of interaction with user departments as appropriate;
- Maintain accurate records and files (manual & electronic) of all the tender data (i.e. correspondence, quotations, internal input, etc.).
