Working with and reporting to the Head of IT, will be in charge of the following: Plan, organise, coordinate and control the procurement of goods or services to meet the requirements of work units or center’s; develop appropriate procurement, assets management systems, policies and procedures to support the business needs of the organisation.
- Leads and coordinates Procurement Planning of all IT assets
- Ensures that all procurements are made per the procurement plan submitted by each work unit
- Establishes standard specifications and codes for all major categories of goods purchased
- Ensures that all goods procured meet the standard specification and quality specified in a purchase requisition
- Ensures Approved/Preferred supplier’s Maintain value add to the business
- Monitors Approved/Preferred supplier’s behaviour and recommends exclusion of any misbehaving supplier from the Approved/Preferred Suppliers roster
- Ensures that all procurements, to the extent possible, are made from the Approved/Preferred Suppliers
- Conducts quarterly market price surveys for major categories of goods and services procured by the company and establish price database
- Ensure that the price charged by company Approved/Preferred Supplier is in line with the market price and initiate renegotiation with the Approved/Preferred Suppliers where their price significantly varies from the market price
- Ensures value for money purchase is obtained at all times
- Ensures goods and services are procured and timely delivered to the requesting work units
- Ensures procurement activities are being conducted based on the rules, regulations, policies, and strategies of company
- Maintains records of all purchases, agreements, contracts and regularly follows-up its implementation and updates the Head of IT and the requesting work units on the status
- Establish and implement proper asset management systems in line with the company Financial Policies and Procedures Manual
- Ensure that proper records are established for company’s assets at all office locations and that the assets are regularly checked for physical existence and condition/status
- Ensure that all non-functional assets are timely repaired, disposed and/or replaced
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A tertiary qualification
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience
- High level of integrity and ethical behaviour
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to make logical and timely decisions
- Excellent oral & written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of seniority
