Open source software leader Talend has appointed software and services specialist DVT as a Gold-level partner following DVT’s investment in Talend and a successful two-year partnership in South Africa.

DVT sold and supported the first Talend enterprise service bus (ESB) implementation in South Africa, and has since invested significant resources in extending its Talend skills development, customer support and advanced enterprise architectures to help customers create better agile solutions.

“Talend is peerless in its delivery of a unique solutions trifecta: a unified platform for application integration, data integration and master data management,” says Hardy Jonck, who heads up the business agility unit and model-driven development at DVT.

“Our customers see us as architects for change, recognising that since the only constant in their business is change, they need to work quickly to capitalise on new business opportunities through their applications and other software-based customer interactions,” says Jonck.

“That’s where proven open source solutions from companies like Talend have a real impact, almost always increasing the speed to opportunity if applied correctly by the right people with the right level of expertise and focus.

“Our commitment to develop meaningful partnerships with technology specialists like Talend means local customers can be confident that they’re working with people who have the skills, insight and sufficient influence to prioritise their agile development projects.”

Recently named by Gartner as a “visionary” in its 2013 Magic Quadrant analyses for data integration tools and on-premises application integration suites, Talend’s global customers include the likes of Porsche, Verizon and Standard Chartered.

With its open source platform and cost-competitive solutions, Talend focuses on integration projects and technologies that accelerate time-to-value for organisations large and small across a range of industries, from finance and government to retail, manufacturing and telecommunications.

“Often our customers have either evolved into larger organisations from SMEs, or are starting on the growth path as an SME, and in doing so make use of different – sometimes diametrically different – technology platforms, and are looking to us to help them scale and ultimately integrate their legacy corporate and new customer-facing solutions” says Jonck.

“The biggest advantage of having Talend in our palette of professional development solutions is in its ability to easily integrate so many different data sources and applications with a complementary set of tools, which makes it an invaluable resource in a process that more often than not relies substantially on integration.”

As a Gold level partner, DVT offers its customers Talend certification and training, along with local support and ongoing maintenance as part of its broad services portfolio.
