Duxbury Networking, a specialist networking product distributor, together with its Netgear brand of wireless, storage, security and switching connectivity products, will be making use of the social media site Facebook to build momentum and excitement in the pre-race build-up to the 2014 Dakar rally in South America.
Then, during the rally – acknowledged to be among the toughest motorsports events in the world – fans will be kept abreast of the exploits of the all-SA entered Toyota Motorsport team and follow its attempt to win while flying the Duxbury-Netgear flag.

Prizes are on offer for Facebook fans who “like” the page or “share” it with friends and colleagues.

The Facebook page will also be linked to a Twitter feed, giving fans a unique perspective on the rally through the eyes of Graham Duxbury who will be close to drivers Giniel deVilliers and Leeroy Poulter. Regular tweets and photographs will be posted ahead of the event and from the route.

The rally starts in Rosario, Argentina on 5 January 2014 and finishes on 18 January in Valparaiso, Chile after thirteen stages of competition, covering a total distance of over 8 500 kilometres.
