Mark Davison at Oracle OpenWorld, San Francisco – The America’s Cup and OpenWorld are not the only reasons Oracle is in the headlines this week – local TV news stations have been prominently featuring a lawsuit that a San Francisco strip club has brought against the company.
The New Century Theatre, a well-known strip club in the Bay area, is suing Oracle for $33 000. The club alleges that an employee of Oracle, Jose Sanchez, ran up the tab entertaining guests at last year’s OpenWorld and paid for the jaunt using an Oracle corporate credit card. Payment of the bill was obviously halted.

The club maintains that because Sanchez was using an Oracle credit card, the company is therefore liable for payment.

Needless to say, Oracle has remained tight-lipped on the subject, preferring instead to issue statements on other matters at hand, more noticeably new technology and the America’s Cup.
