MWeb Business has launched a suite of uncapped satellite connectivity products, making affordable uncapped connectivity available to users living and working in remote parts of South Africa, as well as on the outskirts of the major metropolitan areas.
The uncapped options are available in speeds ranging from 1Mbps to 10Mbps – at a price that makes VSAT the preferred connectivity option for businesses that have high internet data requirements and no fixed line alternatives available.
“In certain scenarios, the initial capped offerings have not been able to adequately address the ‘always-on’ needs of businesses that depend on the internet for their day-to-day operations,” says Hennie van Tonder, head of Product at MWeb Business.
According to van Tonder, demand for the MWeb Business VSAT service has been particularly high from the mining, agricultural, construction and education sectors. Even with the more recent aggressive roll-out of fibre infrastructure in South Africa, it has only incrementally increased the available services to outlying areas.
“MWeb’s uncapped VSAT offering now fills the gap,” he adds.
The MWeb Uncapped VSAT offerings are: 1Mbps for R915.00; 2Mbps at R1 750.00; 4Mbps at R2 365.00; and 10Mbps at R3 075.00.
