Although the importance of social technology is on a steady rise in the minds of HR buyers, mobile, cloud and analytics are still seen as more important.
Despite this, many talent management vendors are bringing forward good technology in support of compelling social use cases.

IDC MarketScape: Worldwise Social Technology for Integrated Talent Management 2015 Vendor Analysis evaluates the offerings and prospects of 11 vendors relative capabilities.

These providers were evaluated using detailed criteria that IDC identified as key factors contributing to vendor success in the social technology for worldwide integrated talent management market. The vendors included in the analysis are ADP, Cornerstone OnDemand, Halogen Software, IBM, Infor, Peoplefluent, Oracle Talent Cloud, Saba, SilkRoad, SuccessFactors (an SAP Company) and SumTotal.

The IDC MarketScape methodology placed Cornerstone OnDemand, Peoplefluent, Oracle Talent Cloud, SilkRoad, SuccessFactors, an SAP Company, and SumTotal in the “Leaders” category.

“Results of IDC HR buyer research over the past three years show that the importance of social technology is on a steady rise in the minds of HR buyers,” says Lisa Rowan, research vice-president: HR, talent and learning strategies for IDC.

“However, mobile, cloud, and analytics are still seen as more important than social technology by HR executives. As a result uptake of social technology in talent is slow with an aggregate average penetration rate of just 15% to 20%.”
