CallCabinet South Africa has signed a deal with Electronic Communications Network (ECN), a division of JSE-listed Reunert, to incorporate CallCabinet’s powerful and compliant voice logging technology as part of its telecoms solutions.

ECN is a national next generation network offering a wide range of voice, data and hosted services.

The agreement comes hot on the heels of CallCabinet winning the “Best in Show” Cloud solution award for its secure, cloud-based compliant CallCabinet Atmos voice logging solution.

“This deal is a massive game changer for CallCabinet SA as ECN is one of the largest suppliers of telecommunications solutions in this country,” says Matthew Balcomb, CEO of CallCabinet SA.

“It means that CallCabinet’s compliant voice logging solutions will now be available to ECN customers as an integral component of the company’s hosted PBX and other telecoms offerings. This is an enormous endorsement for and demonstration of ECN’s belief in the integrity of the CallCabinet product suite.”

According to Chris Baisch, executive head of Product at ECN, the global hosted services market is beginning to mature, and the company is starting to see local businesses adopting more and more cloud based services.

“The growth in the hosted PBX market is a case in point,” Baisch says. ”As more and more of our customers shift their physical PBXs into the cloud, so they want to move their voice logging infrastructure into the cloud as well.

“It therefore made absolute sense for us to partner with CallCabinet, so that we could offer our Hosted PBX customers a compliant Hosted Call Recording solution as an add-on.”

Recordings of telephone interactions using CallCabinet technology comply with a host of consumer protection legislation including the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act; the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act; the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA); the Consumer Protection Act (CPA); the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act; and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

ECN is the second South African telecommunications solutions supplier to incorporate CallCabinet’s advanced technology as an option on its product range. The first was Cape Town-based Far South Networks, a supplier IP PBX and SIP Gateway products.
