In a multi-million rand deal, TruTeq has landed its first consolidated VAS project together with Tecnotree, expanding w European operator’s voice services platform to incorporate IP-SMS and MMS.
The evolution of the telecommunications market has made it more important than ever for operators to seek functional benefits at the same time as increasing efficiencies and reducing costs. As a result, it has become critical for operators to consolidate all call completion and messaging services into one platform from a single vendor, while still having the versatility to launch new services. The Agility consolidated VAS platform offers virtualisation and cost-efficiency, combined in a flexible, scalable and future-proof platform.
After the successful integration of the Tecnotree and TruTeq offerings into a single, consolidated value added services offering, the next step was to put it to the test in the Cloud (virtual environment). “The successful cloud deployment is a key achievement in our roadmap to full Network Function Virtualization (NFV),” says Tjaart van der Walt, MD of TruTeq Wireless. “Apart from helping carrier customers to optimise their investment, solving the technical challenge of a system that scales automatically in a virtualised environment is quantum leap forward.”
“Tecnotree’s Agility VAS consolidation is a future-proof approach for businesses. Integrating multiple complementary solutions under one platform simplifies operations and reduces costs. Tecnotree anticipates that VAS business will transform even more towards consolidated platforms and Tecnotree shall actively pursue these opportunities,” says Ilkka Aura, executive vice-president: Europe and Americas at Tecnotree
Van der Walt from TruTeq Wireless adds: “This is our first combined offering with a global player and heralds our entry in to the European market. In the hotly contested VAS space this is huge for us. With MNOs experiencing some 40% growth in data usage since the beginning of the year VAS consolidation makes great sense. Combining legacy and new IP based messaging solutions, and the integration with voice services heralds great savings for the MNOs. The consolidated VAS platform aggressively addresses the need to cut costs and increase functionality through tight integration”
