Mark Harris has been promoted from national sales manager to marketing director of XON as the company bolsters its marketing strength following NEC Europe’s investment in it.
The two companies created an integrated market approach through the NEC Africa office in August this year.
“Mark Harris’ appointment to marketing director integrates the marketing function to provide a single, cohesive message to the market of the combined strengths and qualities of the XON and NEC solutions and services,” says Carel Coetzee, CEO of XON. “He has years of experience in our business and our industry and is intimately acquainted with our operations as he has developed his career within the company over many years.”
Harris joined XON in 2012 as national sales manager stationed in Johannesburg and now takes the reins of the marketing division from the same location.
“My first task is to create consistent cross-divisional messaging from Storage and Infrastructure to Safety & Security and XON’s traditional strength, Networking, and solidify that in our portfolio of marketing materials and mediums,” says Harris. “This represents a fundamental shift from XON’s traditional marketing approach which, as a ICT systems integrator, was to piggyback the OEM marketing drives.”
XON is a level 2 B-BBEE, pan-African organisation.
NEC and XON jointly carry a wider footprint across Africa to better support, service and maintain wherever their customers operate. The NEC products and solutions complement XON’s current solutions and services and XON in turn is positioned to bring these world-class products and services to the African continent. The mutually exclusive structure for sub-Sahara Africa joins solutions to expand the scope available to customers relating to NEC and XON’s current business lines:
* Networking and Security
* Infrastructure and Datacentre
* Information Management
* Cloud
* Retail
* Alternative Energy
* Consulting Services
* Safety & Security
* Carrier Networks
“My objective is to deliver the message that XON and NEC’s combined strengths meet the most pressing needs in the world today, related to increasing urbanisation and embodied in the smart cities concept, through the judicious application of related, integrated, advanced technologies, solutions and services,” says Harris.
