Pinnacle Africa has won the Channelwise Awards SME/Consumer Distributor of the Year award, in a field of an unprecedented eight finalists.
With four distributors – Drive Control, Asbis, Phoenix and Mustek – in a dead tie for fifth place, Pinnacle swept past Rectron in fourth, Tarsus in third and AxizWorkgroup in second to take the top honours.
Pinnacle was named as the top distributor in a number of categories in the SME/Consumer survey: Components; End User Computing; and Printers, Peripherals and Components.
AxizWorkgroup took the top place in Servers, Storage and Networking as well as in Software.
The SME/Consumer survey of the Channelwise Awards polled about 1 000 South African resellers, asking them to name their favourite vendors and distributors.
Resellers were also asked to rate their favourite distributors according to: ease of doing business; stockholding, logistics and delivery; credit availability; and channel programme.
“This will help resellers to understand what’s important to their resellers, and how they stack up,” says Channelwise publisher Kathy Gibson. “It will also help them to tweak their offerings over the next year to make it easier for their customers to do business with them.”
