Obsidian Systems’ next open source-technology focused networking session or Free Beer Session is scheduled for 12 May.
The company says this session, the 20th in the series, is one not to be missed and will feature a strong line up of speakers including internet entrepreneur Philip Booysen, and senior strategist and web manager Eddie Dunckley.
Booysen will present the topic “A Story of Enhancement featuring Raspberry Pi” while Dunckley will discuss the question “A New Way To Do Web Applications”.
Booysen has had a love of all things open source. By day he is a technical Specialist and Red Hat Certified Architect with impressive amounts of experience in Linux and multiple scripting languages. Although that is great it is what Booysen does in his spare time that is going to impress all open source enthusiasts.
With some practical examples of what you can do with a Raspberry Pi, this will be a “show rather than tell” open source aficionados will not want to miss.
Dunckley is a Senior Strategist and Web Manager at Realtime Travel Connections in Cape Town.
His big dream is to find a Web Operating System that will change the future. Dunckley also speaks linux, php, apache, vi, vim, ajax, css, html, xhtml, xml, soap, a bit of jquery, lots of java, including the coffee kind.
“Dunckley will be our speaker joining us from the Mother City live with the next up and coming Free Beer Sessions Cape Town…we are super excited to hear from our specialists and we know that at this point in the development of Africa’s open source market, this level of information and insight is of substantial value,” says Muggie van Staden, MD of Obsidian Systems.
Those interested in participating in this ground-breaking networking and interactive information session are urged to register as soon as possible at www.freebeersessions.co.za for either the Johannesburg or Cape Town event.
