TISS, the world’s leading truck security and safety specialists, has appointed MiX Telematics as a distributor of its TankSafe range of fuel security and safety devices for Africa.
“Our aim is to continue expanding our network to ensure that all products in our portfolio remain at the forefront of fuel security, across the world,” says Matthew Rose, director of TISS. “To this end, we have selected MiX Telematics, not only due to their expansive business footprint and a very reputable track record in asset management, but we believe that they carry the same business fundamentals of excellence, quality and innovation.”
The TankSafe devices include an award-winning “impregnable” device that completely prevents ‘skimming’ of fuel, 3rd party fuel theft, overfilling and diesel spills. The TankSafeTM range also includes the “standard” anti-siphon device, which is proven to offer 75% better protection than the nearest competing ‘basic’ anti-siphon device.
The TankSafe Impregnable Device is a patented design offering proven savings. In fact, some fleet customers have reported 40% savings on their total fuel cost.  Return on investment after fitting the TankSafe Impregnable is achieved in a matter of weeks, according to the company.
“As a business whose core focus is on the effective and innovative management of assets, to reduce risk, increase efficiencies and improve productivity, there is no doubt that we are in the perfect position to take this product to market and we are very proud to become a TankSafe distributor in Africa,” says Grant Fraser, product and marketing director at MiX Telematics (Africa).
“Not only does this open up further opportunities for us as a business to deliver solutions to mitigate risk, but, very importantly, it provides a solution that is a fundamental addition to asset management technology in today’s fleet environment, where fuel theft and loss – as well as the costs associated therewith – are ever increasing.”
Managing driver behaviour is critical to reducing fuel costs and in fact, good driving behaviour can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 12%. However, the risk of fuel loss and theft cannot be ignored and this is where TankSafe helps with fuel protection and management, in conjunction with its asset management software.
“With an extensive network of customers and unwavering market experience, we believe MiX Telematics has what it takes to extend our distribution network in Africa – leveraging current business platforms and ensuring that they are able to contribute towards our vision for the future. We look forward to a fruitful partnership and continued business success as a result,” says Rose.
“We believe this partnership has a solid platform and enables us to offer our customers a comprehensive service that speaks directly to their bottom line,” Fraser adds.
