First National Bank has been recognised for its Best Online Financial Services Platform 2016 at this year’s PriceCheck Tech & e-Commerce Awards, while the FNB Banking App was awarded the 2016 Best in Customer Experience Award at the international Bank Customer Experience (BCX) Summit held in Chicago.

Yolande Steyn, FNB Innovations and Digital says: “We are incredibly humbled by the latest accolades, especially because the South African and international banking landscapes are extremely competitive in digital innovation. We continue to innovate to ensure that our digital platforms provide unparalleled customer experience. One of the reasons behind the popularity of the bank’s Online and Banking App platforms is flexibility and multi-purpose use. The value-added services we offer through our online play a significant role in the upward trend and all this is centred on clients.”

The PriceCheck Awards recognise outstanding South African businesses, organisations and individuals in the e-commerce and technology industries. They are based on public opinion and the expertise of a carefully-selected panel of judges.

The Internationally recognised BCX Awards are premised on banking products that are customer-centric and enhance customer experience.

Nowadays, clients do not only get to bank via FNB’s digital platforms, they can also purchase pre-paid products such as electricity, data or airtime. Recently, a number of Lotto and PowerBall players have also won big through the digital platforms.

The FNB App is used by over 2-million active devices in South Africa and has seen a steady uptake in the African countries where the bank operates.
Over the years, various features have been added to the FNB App, such as Mobile Vouchers & Coupons and the Business Directory which acts as a business listing catalogue to connect business with customers via the FNB Banking App.
