Kathy Gibson reports from Dell EMC Forum in Sandton – Industry stalwart Stewart van Graan, vice-president of Dell EMC, has officially announced his retirement from the IT world.
“Afte 14 years at Dell, this is probably my last official engagement,” he told delegates to the Dell EMC Forum in Sandton today.
“I have decided that I want to return to the townships,” he says, referring to the philanthropic work that he intends to make his work after his retirement later this year.
Van Graan joined Dell as the country manager for South Africa, later taking on the African operation, and ending his career at the company as vice-president.
He began his careers in the IT industry at IBM SA, and also spent time working for the company internationally.
