Exmile Technologies has purchased the going concern of Wireless G, that has been under business rescue since August 2015, based on a revised and approved business rescue plan.
Exmile Technologies is owned by its management team: Jan van der Nest (CEO), Henk Badenhorst (chief technology officer), Braam Linde (chief operating offiecr) and Hazel Badenhorst (chief financial officer).

The going concern purchased from WirelessG has been transferred into an operational company, called GConnect (Pty) Ltd, wholly owned by Exmile Technologies.

Van der Nest comments: “The company and its employees are extremely thrilled that the acquisition is now finalised so that we can continue to focus on what is important to us — to provide a reliable managed WiFi service that our customers can trust and ultimately a good WiFi experience to consumers.”

GConnect offers both managed WiFi hotspot services to businesses and wholesale WiFi services to ISPs and operators and has already installed Wi-Fi services for brands such as KFC, Holiday Inn Express Hotels, Mercure Hotels and Popeyes Louisiana Chicken, to name a few. GConnect has a current network footprint of more than 600 WiFi hotspots across South Africa.

“One of our key objectives as a company is to inrease our Wi-Fi hotspot footprint radpidly over the next couple of years”, says Jan van der Nest.

“We believe that with our management team’s hands-on approach together with our strong company culture, business values and a team that is tough and competent, we will never compromise the authenticity and reliability of what we promise our customers,” he adds.

The company also revealed the completed development of its own social WiFi and analytics software that lets WiFi hotspot customers directly engage consumers who have previously used their WiFi service.

It recently unveiled its new brand on social media, together with the launch of a new website and a new WiFi hotspot login interface.
