The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render supply chain management (SCM) clerical service. The successful incumbent must possess good interpersonal relations. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)

Duties and Responsibilities

Render asset management clerical support; Compile and maintain records (e.g. asset records/databases); Render demand and acquisition clerical support; Update and maintain a supplier (including contractors) database; Register suppliers on Logistical Information System (LOGIS) or similar system; Render logistical support service; Place orders for goods; Receive and verify goods from suppliers.

Competencies

Good understanding of the following: Supply chain duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Work procedures in terms of the working environment; Proven computer skills; Planning and organising skills.

Remuneration

R 173 703 per annum (Salary level 5)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
