The highlight of the South African channel’s social calendar was held at Monte Casino last night when Tarsus held its annual Dealer Bash and acknowledged its reseller partners.
In what has become the most sought-after social ticket in the local channel, Tarsus marketing manager, Emma Blewitt, once again surpassed all expectations by topping last year’s event as partners and vendors – many relishing the Back-to-School theme – partied into the wee hours, ably assisted by local rock band Lonehill Estate.
But not before MC Bob Skinstad and Tarsus CEO, Pierre Spies, both suitably attired in flannels and blazers, announced the company’s top resellers for the year.
Taking top honours this year, Incredible Connection was named Tarsus’ Best Business Partner of the Year, and EOH Bromide as its Best Reseller of the Year.
Spies admitted that the past year had been a difficult one but that, with its partners, Tarsus had managed to weather the storm and produce some fine results.
“I have got to thank each and every one here tonight for a fantastic year,” he told more than 2 000 assembled partners. “It has certainly been by far one of the most difficult years I’ve experienced in all my years in the channel, but we managed to see it through.
“All indications – certainly if business in January and February is anything to go by – are that things are looking a lot better, and I look forward to another fantastic year with you,” Spies says.
Other awards on the night are listed below.
Regional awards:
* Outstanding Achievement in Gauteng – Aptronics, Digital Planet and Sysdba.
National awards:
* Outstanding Achievement Nationally – First Technology, T-Systems and Gijima;
* SMB Reseller of the Year – EcoTech Converge; and
* African Reseller of the Year – Modi Investments.
