Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has announced the immediate availability of Microsoft Office 365 and Office 2013. Office 365 is available in two versions, a one-year Home Premium license and a four-year University license. Office 2013 is available in Office Professional, Home and Business, Home and Student, Project, Project Pro, Visio Standard and Visio Pro version.
“Microsoft Office has become the de facto standard for computer users, and these new versions offer several enhancements over the 2010 versions. Office 2013 is very user friendly and helps both home and business users to be more efficient and productive.
“We are also very excited to launch Office 365, the latest version of Office as a subscription. It features per user licensing across five PCs or Macs as well as five mobile devices, with roaming documents, applications and settings to ensure a consistent experience across devices, and Office on demand to stream the full office suite to a PC,” says Cindy du Toit, Microsoft product specialist at DCC.
Office 365 also incorporates access to a number of productivity and collaboration tools online, including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online. SharePoint offers document sharing and management in the cloud as well as collaboration for working on documents and easy-to-use templates for building Web sites.
Exchange delivers hosted business-class email and shared calendar along with 25Gb of storage per user, the ability to use your own domain name to send emails, and premium spam and malware protection. Lync provides multiparty HD video conferencing, real-time note taking and document sharing, instant messaging and presence across firewalls and native integration with Skype including presence, IM and voice.
“Office 365 gives home and university users access to enterprise-class technology for an affordable per-user fee. You can easily collaborate on documents, take part in video conferencing, use instant messaging and more, all from within one powerful suite of applications.
“With the forthcoming business editions of Office 365, this capability will be offered to small and medium sized enterprises (SME) as well. Office 365 is also optimised for touch screens, making it easy to use on tablets and smartphones for productivity anywhere, anytime,” says Du Toit.
