Willem Potgieter, MD of MDA Property Systems, has announced that MDA and ARGUS Software have formed a strategic partnership to provide property companies, funds and service providers across the African continent with an end-to-end solution.
Potgieter says, “We are very excited at forming this partnership, as the two companies complement each other so well and do not compete. We have similar target clients, but whereas MDA specialises in property management, accounting and facilities management, ARGUS’ solutions are focused on forecasting.
“Our clients will see the immediate benefits of the joint offerings; MDA is the dominant provider of software in the southern African region, whilst ARGUS is a world leading provider of asset management, valuation and development.”
According to Potgieter one of the major motivations for the move was that ARGUS Software needed an established and reputable partner in the African region and MDA was keen to align with a global player.
MDA Property Systems, which is a privately held company, was established in 1990, and is a specialist in designing, packaging and implementing property management software.
Its core product, MDA Property Manager, is a comprehensive property management software package which offers fully integrated and real-time rent collection, space management, lease management, facilities management, customer relationship management (CRM), asset register, budgets and financial management.
MDA Property Manager is offered as a cloud service. Today the system is the most widely use property management software in Africa with over 3 000 licenced users.
For over 25 years, ARGUS Software has led the commercial real estate industry and served clients in over 60 countries. By combining industry best practices with MDA’s robust product portfolio, the partners provide solutions that are consistent, transparent, and efficient.
Potgieter adds, “ARGUS develops solutions exclusively for the commercial real estate industry and we constantly make sure that our leadership supports our clients’ ability to stay ahead of the game.
“ARGUS solutions are about forecasting – all their solutions are based on today going forward. The solutions take a situation today and forecast out for x years with the solutions providing sophisticated algorithms to forecast future values.”
ARGUS is owned by The Altus Group, a Canadian listed company with 65 offices worldwide and over 2 000 staff.
“It is expected that the planned integration between the MDA Property Manager and ARGUS Enterprise products will have great appeal to existing and prospective MDA clients.
“It is envisaged that the automated integration between the respective systems will allow property asset managers to easily import underlying data from MDA in ARGUS Enterprise in order to base analysis and projection scenarios on the same data used by property managers and property accountants,” concludes Potgieter.
