Samsung Galaxy S4 users will experience a world first in terms of service, with the announcement of the company’s Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) clause under its standard two-year warranty.
Samsung Electronics Africa vice-president and COO, George Ferreira, says that service is one of the most crucial factors in today’s market and that the new ADH service is Samsung’s way of making life a little easier for its users.
“We will provide all Galaxy S4 consumers across Pan-Africa with a 24-month warranty and, with that, Accidental Damage from Handling which will cover screen and water damage,” Ferreira says. “Consumers will be allowed two service calls for the two years where we will replace or fix damaged Galaxy S4s with no questions asked.
“This is a world first, and we’re doing it right here in Africa,” he adds.
Ferreira also reveals that users of the new smartphone will shortly be able to conduct social network payments.
“Social network payments will be available to our customers in the next 30 to 45 days,” Ferreira says. “Consumers will be able to do transactions using social media such as Facebook and Twitter.”
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will retail for R8 499 and will be available from all of Samsung’s retail networks and service providers from 10:00am tomorrow (Saturday 27 April).
