Gijima, a leading JSE-listed IT company, has received the Best Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) Partner award at a Nippon Electronic Company (NEC) Partner Conference held in Dubai, in recognition of its accomplishments in the enterprise sector.
“This award highlights our commitment to providing our customers with the best possible UCC solutions for their business needs,” says Carlos Ferreira, CFO of Gijima.
“The combination of NEC technology and the extensive experience of Gijima have seen us grow from strength to strength in the past 12 months.”
The conference brought together the major NEC distributors and key business partners from more than 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). During the event, NEC recognised its top performing business partners for their excellent performance in various IT and communication categories over the past year.
“It is immensely inspiring to experience the enthusiasm of our business partners for our brand, our portfolio and our way of working. The awards we are presenting are recognition of our mutual commitment and business success,” says Paul Kievit, president of NEC Enterprise Solutions.
UCC is the integration of realtime communication services such as Voice, Video, Instant Messaging, and Presence, with non-realtime services such as e-mail, voicemail, and text. It enables users to send information on any medium, with the recipient being able to receive it on a device of their choice.
“Gijima designs, installs and supports UCC infrastructure and application solutions for a number of private and public enterprises in several vertical markets, including financial services, education, healthcare, and manufacturing,” says Hugo de Wet, Gijima business unit executive for NEC.
“Given the availability of more cost-effective bandwidth for enterprise customers, the market for UCC solutions is poised for significant growth in South Africa. We are excited by the opportunities that exist. By having some of the best technology available through our partnerships with companies like NEC, we are looking forward to what the future will hold,” says De Wet.
