TomTom released its annual Congestion Index in April and, in addition to this announcement, traffic information will now also be made available through TomTom’s Twitter feed on @TomTom_SA, which will include details of exceptional delays around the country.
Through the @TomTom_SA Twitter feed, followers will be informed of delays across the country throughout the day that have been pulled from TomTom Traffic, a live traffic data centre based in Holland that provides up to date information on traffic delays to all TomTom LIVE devices every two minutes.
@TomTom_SA users can access information about certain regions, streets and highways by following the allocated hash tags. A map depicting the traffic jam can be viewed by clicking on the provided bitly link

Checking the page before travelling will help followers plan the best route before hitting the road, especially during peak travel times.
