Kathea has been appointed an official valued-added distributor (VAD) for AudioCodes, one of the world’s leading providers of voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, products and services.
Speaking at the AudioCodes Partner Launch, hosted at the Microsoft Envisioning Centre in Johannesburg, Bryan Thompson, sales manager at AudioCodes SA emphasised that Kathea’s VoIP and Microsoft Lync expertise make it a natural fit for the company’s SA channel strategy.
“We require skilled people to support our resellers and partners and Kathea undoubtedly fits this bill. Furthermore, with the increasing need for unified communications solutions it made market sense to appoint a distributor that can strengthen our business in this next phase of communications,” says Thompson.
Kathea will be distributing AudioCodes’ full range of VoIP, networking and enabling technology solutions. The company’s Enabling Technology, for example, includes VoIP PCI (peripheral component interconnect) and cPCI (compact peripheral component interconnect) communication blades.
These products are integral for the most advanced and reliable VoIP platforms on the market and have been implemented successfully by leading telecommunications and networking manufacturers worldwide.
“With AudioCodes we can provide an end-to-end communication solution to the market. Furthermore, our entrenched expertise means that our partners can be rest assured they will be engaging with a distributor that understands UC technology and offers the necessary support to meet their requirements,” says Alain Schram, chief operating officer at Kathea.
In support of the AudioCodes distribution, Kathea’s partner programme will be offering the necessary training and skills transfer to enable successful pre-and post-sales implementations.
AudioCodes is an official technology partner for Microsoft’s Lync which includes end-to-end voice elements, services and expertise for simplifying voice-enablement of implementations in both on-premise and cloud-based network architectures.
Looking at some of the AudioCodes products available from Kathea, the MediaPack solution is optimised for commercial VoIP deployment. It is used by carriers and service providers in Access networks for connecting Multi-Tenant Units (MTU), IP Centrex subscribers, payphones and rural users over various wireless and satellite links.
Furthermore, enterprises use Mediant 1000 gateways to connect their legacy PBX systems over an IP infrastructure. In addition, in IP Centrex and central IP-PBX applications, the gateways increases the remote location availability and provides Stand Alone Survivability (SAS) when there is no IP connection between branch locations and the central SIP servers, SIP Proxy or central IP-PBX.
AudioCodes is available immediately from Kathea.
