Pinnacle Africa has announced to its resellers the introduction of an extended warranty on certain Sony South Africa electronics product ranges.
Sony South Africa made the announcement at the Sony Conference for Africa held in Cape Town. The extended warranty will be valid for a two-year period going forward and will be backdated on any products bought on or before 1 May 2013.
Anandi Schelhase, brand manager of Sony for Pinnacle Africa, says that the company is extremely excited about the news and what this means for their clients.
“When the announcement was made at the Sony Conference for Africa that Sony will now have an extended two-year warranty I was so excited that I applauded as if Sony had just won an Oscar award,” she says.
“This is absolutely great news for Pinnacle as Sony has always been a brand and product that we believe in, and we value the level of service and quality of products that Sony has offered to the consumer market over the years.”
She went on to say that the warranty will offer consumers reassurance in Sony’s product sets and that consumers can look forward to a range of exciting new products.
“With the extended warranty that has been granted to their product sets I believe that Sony is re-assuring the local consumers that they have and always will deliver products of the highest standard and quality. Sony has an amazing product line up for the next financial year and we look forward to grow the brand as a proud Sony partner.”
The warranty applies to some of Sony’s most popular products distributed by Pinnacle Africa including:
* BRAVIA television;
* Cyber-shot digital still cameras;
* Interchangeable lens cameras; and
* Handycam camcorders (including the new Action Cam lifestyle camcorder).
Timothy Barnard, Sony South Africa product marketing manager, says at the conference that the extended warranty is a reaffirmation of Sony’s confidence in the quality of its products.
“The extension of the warranty period not only reflects our belief in the reliability of the products we sell to many happy local consumers, but will go the extra mile to ensuring customers have an added sense of security and recourse,” he says.
The standard Sony Warranty terms and conditions will apply to the extended warranty, details of which are available on Sony’s Web site.
