McAfee has announced that McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management (McAfee EMM software) is now fully integrated with the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) platform. With McAfee EMM software, comprehensive security, policy and management capabilities are extended to mobile devices.
McAfee ePO software enables enterprises to protect their data on company-issued and employee-owned devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers) through a single, unified infrastructure and console.
According to a Gartner survey of 2 300 CIOs worldwide last year, CIOs ranked mobile security as their second highest technology priority. The 2012 Gartner CIO Agenda Survey, October 2012IT departments have largely deployed stand alone management systems for mobile devices.
Mobility no longer needs to be an additional strain on IT resources with the simplification and efficiency of managing end-user devices and servers in the same security infrastructure.
“Businesses are leveraging mobile technologies to deliver a competitive edge yet many organisations manage these devices separately from their core infrastructure,” says Ari Jaaksi, senior VP and GM of Mobile Engineering Operations at McAfee.
“Every device that’s connected to the Internet or that has access to an organisation’s network or database needs to be secured and managed. McAfee is making it easier for IT departments to see and manage their mobile footprint along with the rest of their infrastructure.”
The combination of McAfee EMM software with the included McAfee ePO management platform brings a wide range of enhancements, including:
* End-to-end security and compliance visibility from a single, unified infrastructure and console;
* Streamlined processes by leveraging McAfee ePO platform automation including device tagging, automated workflows, and actionable drag-and-drop dashboards;
* Granular policy-based security including per user, device and operating system options;
* Mobile monitoring, alerting, analytics, and reporting, including mobile specific reports and dashboards; and
* Enterprise class scalability up to25 000 devices per server and more than 100 000 devices if using load-balancing.
McAfee EMM software also includes McAfee Secure Container for Android and McAfee VirusScan Mobile for Android software (unmanaged).
McAfee EMM software provides mobile security for devices, data and applications, as well as mobile device management. McAfee EMM software also supports hosting and distribution of corporate apps and public apps for iOS and Android, including support for Apple’s Volume Purchase Program. The EMM software is now part of the new McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection suites.
McAfee Security Connected brings McAfee Network Security, McAfee Endpoint Security and McAfee Mobile Security together through an extensible framework of centralised management through ePolicy Orchestrator platform.
Integrated with McAfee Global Threat Intelligence, enterprises gain unprecedented visibility across all threat vectors, delivering unmatched protection from new and advanced cyber-attacks. The McAfee Security Innovation Alliance extends Security Connected with a network of more than 150 partners who integrate their solutions with McAfee through an open architecture.
