VMware has announced its top partner awards for South Africa and West East Central Africa (WECA) at the Partner Exchange (PEX) on Tour event, held in Johannesburg.

“We are delighted to acknowledge the achievements of the VMware partner ecosystem made in 2012 throughout the region,” said Chris Norton, regional director: southern Africa at VMware.
“Each one of these awards acknowledges not only the dedication of our partners to the VMware brand but also the impetus they place on ensuring our customer expectations are met when delivering cloud and virtualisation strategies to their business.”

Recipients of the awards included 10 partners from throughout the South African as well as WECA region, all of which were lauded for their excellence in performance and distinctive achievements during 2012.

The winners are:
* VATC (VMware Authorised Training Centre) of the Year for the SA and WECA region combined – Torque IT;
* Rising Star of the Year for SA and WECA combined – Ubuntu Technologies;
* VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) Partner of the Year – Internet Solutions;
* Distributor of the Year in South Africa – AxizWorkgroup;
* Distributor of the Year in WECA – Westcon Africa;
* OEM Partner of the Year for SA and WECA combined – Hewlett-Packard;
* Highest Revenue Contributor of the Year for SA and WECA combined – Dell;
* Solution Provider of the Year in WECA – Allied Computers Limited;
* Solution Provider of the Year in South Africa – Aptronics; and
* Global winner in the Emerging Markets category – Aptronics.
