Following the announcement last year of the distribution agreement between Phoenix Distribution and Symantec, through which the specialist security distributor is responsible for Symantec’s Norton portfolio, the two companies have expanded their partnership to East Africa region.

“Phoenix Distribution has now been appointed as an East African distributor of the Norton range of products, and will be using its extensive experience and relationships in these countries to grow the brand- says Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix Distribution.

“We believe that this strategic partnership will grow the Norton brand across the region, and are looking forward to seeing the results in a short space of time.”

The distribution agreement is effective immediately, and covers Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Under the terms of the agreement, Phoenix Distribution will be responsible for sales of the entire Norton range into all channels.

“According to the latest Norton Cybercrime Report, 556-billion people globally suffered from cybercrime. Norton recognises the need for consumers to protect their PCs and mobile devices to assure that their information and data are protected.

“Continuous co-operation with Phoenix reinforces our commitment to the East African region,” says Kara Rawden, senior marketing manager, Middle East & Africa, at Norton Symantec.
